trans recall letter

I posted this in the trans section but only had 1 response, so I'm trying again here. My car is an )1 CLS with a low build #. approx around 600. I still have not received my recall notice yet. Has anyone else not received it yet?

So, I go into an Acura dealer here in Toronto last week to inquire about the tranny recall. He tells me that I need to schedule an appointment so they can run a diagnostic - which'll be 90 bucks by the way - and no loaner until they figure out if anything is wrong.

Terrace Gate is the store. My first impression of them will be my last. Someone should talk to the service dept and tell them he just lost them any hope of a future sale.

I'm off to try Downtown Acura - with much anticipation.

how can they charge you for a diagnostic that they are running cause of the recall? Thats BS and I would talk to the service manager. If tries to stick to that story, ask him for the number to Acura Customer Care. what some BS...sheesh

That is BS, I can tell you with 100% confident that the letter specificly said it is free of charge to the owner of the car whether there are or not any tranny problems.

That does sound like a load of BS. How can they charge you for a diagnostic fee for a problem which generated a recall? I guess since I never got the recall notice I will just tell them about it next time I go there for an oil change.

Are you the first owner of the CL? Call American Honda and ask why they have not sent the recall letter. It might have to do with the fact that you have not had the tranny fail.
