Tranny goes at 49,200 miles..........
Can't believe it. Just started noticing problems after the car turned over 49,000. Yesterday it totally started slippping and not upshifting. Then the check engine light, VSA light and symbol all came on.
Car still drove me home but I took it real easy. Called Friday morning for a Tuesday appointment, but now I'll just drop it off on Monday morning.
Unreal..................

Just got a message from my Acura service manager.
Needs a new tranny, might get the car back on Friday, stuck in a cheap rental until then.
It was easy, dropped it off, picked up rental car, get a call saying they'll replace it, no hassles. Trannys on national backorder, so I don't have much confidence in Friday.

Ed Napleton Acura in Elmhurst. Stephen Stanwick was my service consultant, very professional.
They finished the car by Tuesday afternoon. Dropped off on monday am, back by tuesday pm. It seems as though they done a few of these recently.
Overall the whole ordeal was pretty painless.
No opinion on the new tranny yet, just drove it 6 miles to work so far.

First off, I say you complain about the crappy rental. If you brought in a 30K car, you deserve a comparable rental. My dealer tried to stick me with a POS Ford Escort, I talked him into renting me a Volvo S40.
Second, I don't know what the deal is with nat'l backorder. I had my tranny replaced last week and it took exactly one week.

Wow i had the tranny replaced a few weeks ago no questions ask no reps to deal with nothing. The people here in st. louis at the acura dealer are always great. They have me my choice of rentals either an RSX or 03 TL type S. But like i said the server center here is great when you have you schedualed maintance for an additional 30 to 50$ they will totally detail the car wax it and everthing. the lattime i was in there for 30k maintiance they waxed and detailed the car no questions asked no charge which was great. I shortly found out that the dealer here in st. louis has the #1 acura service center in the nation. And there like #2 or 3 as far as sales satisfaction. Once i went there for something and did not take a loaner car just decided to weight well i ran into the sales person who sold me my car and he insisted i took his demo. i was pretty impressed.
