When i accelerate regularly once it hits third gear sometimes it just rev's up. Its been doing this off and on for the past week. Should I take it to the dealer now? Or should I wait until the tranny goes? and do you think the dealer will replace it with a
6-speed under warranty?

 

you are kidding right , there is no way he will replace it with a 6 speed , first of all it would be a major rework since the hand brake in the six speed is in a different location as well.

It sounds like what mine did , although mine was sudden , slipped one time , then the next day , it died completely . But yes, when you accelerate it would rev up in every gear before changing

 

Don't wait for it to go, if the dealer is good then ask them to check the transmission fluid and tell them your symptons.

It's better to get it taken care of while the car is still driveable then to wait and be stuck on the side of the road somewhere waiting for the 'Courtesy' tow from Acura.
