.. to the 2nd transmission club! 56,350 miles

My car began showing symptoms of a transmission problem about 2 weeks ago.
-the first couple of gears had this odd whine
-sport shift mode would sometimes refuse to drop gears (say 4th to 3rd going 50mph).
-when the car would shift from 2nd to 3rd the rpms would race up a couple hundred before shifting

Shortly after I noticed the following more severe symptoms
-2nd to 3rd would miss the shift and simple rev up as if in neutral
-would eventually find gear but sometimes with what felt like the torque convertor locking up
-soon after all gears would slip in this mannor

I took the car to the dealership and it took them 5 days to replace the transmission (including the weekend). I'm hoping this second one holds up but I've lost all faith in this vehicle.

Makes me want a 6spd.

 

I did too for a while, but since 36000miles (tranny) and now at 80K, I have not had one problem.
