Not again....
Well its been just over 2,800 miles on the replaced tranny... and on the way back from work i feel the jerk on 2nd to 3rd sift, right at 3,000 rpm... will just jump to 4,000 and back down to 3200 before it will shift into 3rd... 
On days like this I was wanna 
After the first episode I havn't done full throttles, taken it easy on the tranny, cancelled the SC order... and still the tranny is still dying.... I checked the oil, its still pink, and topped full... But the rpm jerk, just says the sign of another tranny dying is couple of miles aghead....
Today the offer for 17 plus by the infiniti dealer looks real good... Even though the payments are high for that car... but atleast I wont have this anymore... I love my car... I like everything about it... but this tranny issue is just BS...

Went to the dealer, and yup it was confirmed.. Tranny going down again.... They have to get honda reps look at the car since that normal protocol... So they gave my car back since its a slight jerk.. The dealership will be contacting the honda canada and let me know what the next step will be...
i had my first flare today. i slammed the accelerator and my RPMs shot up to 6000, i then took my foot off the accelerator and let it go for a second, and then it shifted fine. i got the oil jet installed about 3 weeks to the day ago. i'm going to call my dealer tomorrow and see if i'm going to have to wait til my tranny fails.

Ok... Let me see here.... You had the oil jet installed tranny failed....... They put in another tranny ...new or refurbished? Or do you know? Now the new or refurbished tranny has failed .
IF.....IF...The new or refurbished tranny has now failed ....... How can it be right? I mean ...THEY have all the latest update's ...you have the oil jet kit..... HOW could it fail again?
But these are the same thing's I question as well... Even though my problem's ...occured last year .....After the lock-up and having had my new tranny I say new my car was like 6 month's old ..And then another new tranny and the lcok-up occured after only about 3k miles maybe if that ... That is the one that caused the wreck ,the last tranny ... So after those 2 or you may say 3 if you count the original tranny that was in my new car! When I got the 04tl and they told me it was the same tranny from their NSX... I totally believed them ...This was supposedly from Honda headquarter's and FOR sure they would NOT lie to me right ...Not after what happened ... !!!!!!
Now this 04tl as I said gave someone else trouble while driving ...it had symptom's of transmission problem's ..Not going into gear and high RPM's ...Well I never had that happen ,but then like a week ago ..i was driving it and had been driving alot and in alot of stop and go traffic and three different time's when I try to accelerate past 45MPH ..it did not want to go any faster. I did not think to look at the RPM's ...But I deffinately felt the car would not change gears to make me go past 45MPH ...Then it would go... Now I have not had this occur again ..... But I have not driven for that long since iether... Now the thing is when the other person driving my car had similar symptom's ....it was after driving a long period as well......so there must be a connection to the long drive time... This is pretty scary .... It is NOTHING compared to the lock-ups I had in my 03tl ... But I can't help thinking what IF that happened again ! I just couldn't take it ...
And to hear that EVEN RIGHT NOW NEW TRANNY'S ARE FAILING...... Tranny's they have just put in ! This just can't be true.....yet you are prooof that it is .. I'm lost for word's.

on another note, i drove my dad's mdx last night on a long trip to athens, ga (bout an hour away). that car's got the same tranny we do and man does it shift hard, it's got the same tranny hesitations and engine breaking programming that the cls does. it just doesn't feel smooth at all. it's been like that since day 1 for that car. we'll see how long that tranny lasts. i'm already letting my folks know that they'll be in for a wild ride with that tranny. they should have gotten the infiniti fx35 or 45, now that's a beast of an suv.

in short never am I buying another acura with 5 spd auto... I hope they solve this issue, cuz if this happens in the new RL, Acura name and reputation will seriously be in doubt. Talking to the parts guyz at the dealer it sounds like they are putting everything in the new RL. Any problems with that car will require an engineer to come down, record, and evaluate the car. Hope quality will live up to its hype.

I guess ya never been on I10 in Arizona where for miles and miles you are not going to find a gas station, or a living person. My point is, I got straded many times on a stupid test drive with a bogus trans... I know if my car broke on I10 at 2AM in the morning driving back from LA to Phoenix (like I used to do alot) I would seriously be pissed, its never really happened cause I don't drive a 5AT Acura.

babyblue, that's shite news man. I didn't take you advice and I got the oil kit installed. So far, 1200km and no probs...hopefully it stays that way.
What worries me is you only got offered $17k on a trade, with all those mods, damn. Tell me that converted to US$ for the majority of this sites' readers?

17000 translates to about 14K US.... There is only one dealer who is offering me 17US for my ride...
