No Tranny Problems?
No Tranny Problems?
Ok. I don't know if anyone has started one. But i'm going to be getting a used 01 CL-S this weekend and all i hear is about the transmission problems. Seems like there are more with the problem then those without. So can we hear all the people who has not have any problems and how many miles on the car?
And from what Acura has stated, that all 01-02 CLs are affected, does that mean that the tranny will fail....just a matter of time?
Thanks,

Ticking tome bomb
My 2001 CL-S couldn't have been driven easier or maintained better, and the tranny still broke (and the brakes warped). So, yes, consider it a ticking tome bomb. But you should still get one: the tranny has an extended warranty, and the dozen problems the car has are well documented and repeatable, so you won't have any surprises.... And I'm not just saying that to keep the resale values up: The Type S is really tasty and a good value compared with anything else. Just dump the Blose speakers, and it's an all around great car!

I did get the car. So far so good, one thing though. The dealership told me that the tranny was never replaced but the ECU, isn't the ECU only replaced if you had the tranny replaced?
