New tranny at 99,750 miles
Well, I went in to get the SRS light checked out and let Vince @ Vandergriff Acura (really good guy) know that my car was struggling between 2nd and 3rd, but that no warning lights came on. He comes back 10 minutes later and tells me that they were going to install the jet kit, but if 2nd gear was burned, he would have to install a new tranny. As time dragged by, I had a feeling the news would be bad. And sure enough, after 30 minutes, he came back and told me. So now I am driving a '06 SSM TSX with 915 miles on it. What a fun little car, I just miss the V6 power

I know, I almost didn't mention the tranny concern..... He told me that the replacement tranny didn't have a real warranty since my car was almost at 100K miles. what's up with that??

What bums me about it is that I just ordered my '03 taffeta grille surround and I'm waiting for my driver side '03 light to come in!!
Jordan or any other mods, you can move this if needed.

Wow!! That alabaster TSX is really pretty nice!! Ebony interior, XM satellite, etc.... The sport shift is pretty damn nice. I wish my CL-S would stay in 1st like the TSX. I may have toi get on the TSX site and rave about this car. Too bad they don't have an option for the 3.2 from the TL

Lucky you are. I would fight for the 12 month warranty. I had an 06 SMR TSX as a loaner one day nice looking car but just like you I needed my V6 back, trying to merge on the highway is a struggle in that car. Good luck with the tranny.

OK, just got a call and the car is ready. Of course the car wil be washed and the tires armor alled (sp). The service manager has made it clear to me that the motor mounts are not covered. What do I need to look for when I test drive it?? Besides the obvious, of course

I have a quick question about the Transmition Warantee. Is it transferable from one owner to another. . ? I am buying a CLS this week @ about 80k Mi. & I want to know if I am going to have any problems with Acura if anything should happen to the Tranny. . ? This is a private sale, owner to owner.
Also, do these new transmitions have all the "bugs" fixed... ?

Hell yeah!! Got my car back, and it's driving like a brand new car! The rattle I was getting from my front end is even gone. And I thought it was my strut or CV joint going out!!

If your car is under 100K miles and they have to replace the transmission, Acura usually gives you a loaner. The car has been out over 5 years and I'm sure they've gotten an earful from original owners over that time. You should not have a problem getting a loaner. About the warranty for the new tranny. The service manager said that technically since the car is about to be over 100K miles, it's out of warranty. I told him that we would cross that bridge if the new tranny goes out.

Out of curiosity, does your new transmission whine in gears 1 through 3 like mine does? I just had tranny #2 installed last month and it's been whining since the moment I picked it up.

No whine, but I've only had it for 20 miles. I'll keep an ear out. I hope this thing lasts me another 100K because I plan on keeping this SOB

My second tranny went out last week at 103k...dropped it off and service advisor says he has to call Acura HQ or some shit...calls me later and gives me two options....pay nothing and have no warranty or pay the labor for replacement ($1200ish) and have an additional 3 years warranty on the tranny...i read in another post that replaced parts have a 1 year/12k warranty, so i asked him and says oh yeah you get that ... i'm going to make sure i get that in writing when i pick it up...then it will be perfect timing to get rid of for a 2008 335coupe

if ur in dallas area, try to get your car to David McDavid... when i took my car in for VSA check up, they checked the Tranny and I was told that if second gear on my tranny is overheating and needs to be replaced, it will fall under the 100k tranny recall. Sadly my Tranny was good still lol, but make sure u have good Acura Service record... cuz my car did... but anywayz..cant keep my finger cross for long so had to get rid of the CLS.

Yea, I went to Vince too got, I don't know what number transmission (no record of how many transmission the car has been through), got the new one. So far so good but kind of has a little jerk feel on the shift knob when I put it in park and let go of the brake. Didn't happen with the old one. Vince said these transmission are remanufactured. hopefully that will not create another problem.
