My trany is toasted?
After reading all the problems your all experiencing w/ your trannies I think it's my turn:
I'm on my way home from work about 2 blocks away from my house then all sudden VSA, check ENGINE, ! lights lit up. As I slow down I'm stuck in 4 gear, couldn't freakin shift into any any other gear. Managed to crawl home w/ engine RPM needle spining up & down. For God sake my 96' Integ has less problems than this.
Got to call Tustin Acura tomorrow & have them tow this BITCH.
Gentlemen: is this a classic case for _ucked up trany?
time to trade in for 1 of these?

None what so ever. One minute I felt like I'm driving the $$ can buy for 30k, the next minute I regreted for buying this car.
This is a true story:
Once there's a man owning a Cadillac, it gives him nothing but mechanical problems after problems. One day he had the car tow to a junk yard and hire a crane to drop that POS from 60' above.
He also call all the local media and have them to witness the event. Long behold, Cadillac offered to buy his car & pay for all of his expenses.
I read this from my local paper about 15-17 years ago.
I hope this will not be the last step I had to use for this situation...

Sorry to hear about your tranny Dan. When my tranny went out, it did a similar thing with the lights. You should still be able to drive it to the dealer though. Probably safer than towing it. Hopefully it will be a quick fix (a couple days
vs. a month or two
)
I've got just over 25K miles on the clock and my first tranny went out at 14K. Hopefully, my new tranny isn't on it's last leg.

Somebody did the same thing in front of GM headquarters... he drove through the front gates (in the 70's) and set his Cady on fire. Awesome!
