Is my transmission going?
Lately when I get into my car early morning before school...When i put it into a reverse i feel a large jolt before i actually start to move. Also while im driving the cars shifts are very noticeable..its like im braking ...im not even downshifting in the manumatic thing..but it feels like it..Whats going on? Will Acura replace this for free?

Are you parking on an incline ? If so, what I recommend, is when you stop, put your parking brake on before putting the tranny in park, therefore the weight of the car is NOT on the tranny, which is what it sounds like esp. with you living in the hilly bay area....otherwise it could be an early sign of failing, but who knows !
hope this helps....

I think what you're noticing is normal with our cars. Once you've shifted into reverse, it usually takes a second or 2 for the shift to occur. Best thing to do is just keep your foot on the brake for a second or 2 after shifting. You should notice that there's no more of that jerkiness then. As for the hard shifting problems while driving, that'll happen to you if the car hasn't warmed up yet. I notice it a lot when I first take the car out on cold mornings.
