I think it may be time for another tranny

Semi-Rant and a Question.

I had my trans replaced I think at 54k and I just hit 68k today and the tranny has definitely been acting funny the last month, not as bad as last time but still noticeable. F-ing a.

It's been shifting really rough, fluctuating rpms when I'm crusing at certain speeds, and sometimes when I'm in 5th gear and have the CC on, it all of a sudden jerks very roughly for a few seconds. Oh well, last time I got it replaced it was a pretty painless process, but I only had CT headers then. I just hope they don't hassle me about my mods just because I don't feel like dealing with b/s.

I still love my CL, but, if it does need replacing again, that shortly, I'm going to be very disappointed. I am very very easy on the car, even though that doesn't seem to matter. I hope they don't change the PCM this time . They didn't last time .

Its going to be checked out in about 9 hours so we will see. If I do need a new trans, do I have to break it in? and if so, for how long? Last time they said no...but I found that very odd. I did take an easy on it for about 500 miles.

Man I am sorry to hear that, hang in there I had mine replaced too and it runs like a champ! How long ago did you have it replaced? The tech that replaced mine said that they put new technology in all the new trannies.

Yeah thanks. Well it was near the end of my junior year of H.S and I graduated this year, so I'd have to say about a year and change.

Not really a suprise but a new tranny is on it's way. They didn't give me any problems about my mods and they (Rick Case Acura) were very friendly and treated me very well. Another positive experience for me over at RC Acura.

I know Fuzzy02cls has had some issues with them, as well as some other members, but maybe they have changed their act because it was a painless experience.

I'm going to be driving the bros TL until they get the tranny because I'm afraid of getting that 5th gear lock up. I love those steering wheel controls on that thing.

Similar tranny problems as me at similar miles. First one replaced at 55k, second at 66k, now either I'm imagining things or this one is going too at 68k. I don't drive hard, sure I step on the gas to get onto the highway but then cruise. If I have to have it replaced again, I may just sell.

Glad you had a good experience though

Yeah sometimes I feel the same way...05 Pontiac GTO looks pretty good. Oh well hopefully I get lucky and get a good trans this time because I can't afford a GTO now. If they change the PCM and the car is slower then I probably will sell it because I bought a type S for a reason.

Yeah I'm looking to save some money and maybe grab a '99-'04 Mustang GT, go back to the muscle cars and stick shift! This was my first auto and I'm so bored of it already.

True, I miss RWD when I was learning how to drive in my parent's cars.

Anyone know about the tranny break in period?

I did a quick search but nothing relevant showed up which was very odd.
