yes. i was in same situation and got lucky. Ask for the "good-will" warranty. Don't call. Just go to every Acura you can get to and talk to the service writer. I forgot where i saw this, prob in the info thread on cl, there is a thread comparing all dealerships in US.

How much did it cost you for the "good-will" warranty? I plan on going to as many as I can to see who can help me out.

SOOO... I made it home from work, it seemed to be ok. I didn't go over 40mph cause I'm worried its going to down shift and cause more damage. I checked the fluid, it looked fine, clean too. When I turned the car off and turned it back on again, the VSA light and the ! light were off. And it seamed to drive fine. I un hooked the battery, let it sit for while, and drove it in my driveway, and seemed to be fine. I don't know... I'm going to wait to see what the dealer says, just don't feel like droping 3k on a tranny.

I had the same thing but I was only out of warranty by 3 weeks. I had to pay $750.00 for the new tranny. It also came with a 3yr 36K mile warranty. Not to bad of a deal.

Good Luck!

Oh1TypeS, i got lucky and paid only 150 in diagnostic charge. "goodwill" warranty means they will help you. free. but they need to talk to the district manager... is what they told me. keep checking all the dealerships and see what they say.

I asked how the goodwill tranny works over here are Piazza Honda/Acura in Reading and they said that if you went to them with almost all your service, then they would hook you up even if you were 20k miles over your warranty.. LOL

its up to the manager and your history.

Bro, the same shit happened to me a while back, turns out my battery terminals were real dirty and the connection was bad, I limped home all pissed off thinkin my tranny was shot, when it was my fault for not cleaning the terminals 0_o

-- from what these guys say in here, when your tranny goes, it goes hard, no making it home w/o a flatbed.

yeah it offcially shit today, put it in gear,....nothing, she revs nice tho...lol. I called the dealer that had serviced the car most of its life and they said that there is a good chance that they could help me out....only problem is that it is in CHi-town and I'm in the D. I still might just trailer it there if they are going to be the only ones that will help me out. Acura dealer here qouted me $3800!! Fuck that. I'd almost rather swap it ot a 5 speed....

<--- still got extended warranty to 215k miles 0_o (3rdparty)

I must say I love Acura. Went to the dealership yesterday, after a 5min conversation with the service manager, he said he going to cover the tranny free of charge. Like that. I wanted to jump across the table and kiss the old man! 6months out of warrenty..... Shoud be done next week! Thanks for all the info about the "goodwill tranny"
