Thumbs up got a new tranny for xmas!

Christmas come early fellas

car has been puttering alot leaving 2nd and 3rd gears, been pretty annoying/constant....brought it by the dealership on my lunch break(thinkin they were gonna send me home untill it actually blew), tech took it for a ride that didnt last 5 minutes and came back in and said it needed to be replaced...thank god

they gave me wdp 07 TL, not too crazy about it to tell you the truth...very smooth, but i feel that my CL was alot quicker off the line...coilovers should be here by the time i get the car back as well

I got the same loaner when my tranny went. I felt the same exact thing, nice car but way slower off the line. Congrats on the new tranny and Merry Christmas!

i'd be heated if it went a thousand miles over the dealer warranty

yeah I was thinking of something like lots of WOT acceleration from a stop and extreme 3-2 downshifting lol. But then there is always the risk that I don't screw it up enough before 109k and I screw myself over instead. I think I'm just going to take it easy and then if it does fry down the road, do the 6mt swap.

Clunk

So my tranny died yesterday. Was at around 147K when I heard a clunk. Then the gear indicator started flashing. I had an idea it was the tranny but pulled it to the side of the street and towed to Acura. They look at it and they told me it's dead, and that it's warranty is up until 175K. I don't know what it is in the states but in Canada it's 175K. So they're replacing it free of charge. Thank god, cause a $3K bill is no fun.

I'm hoping it helps with the sluggish gear shifting problem I was having...Acura FTW.
