Do new/reman trannys come with the oil jet?

Got my car back from the dealer after they replaced the tranny. I wanted check out the so called "oil jet". Where is it? I thought it replaced the fill plug. Or are they not needed on the new trannys.

Anybody have any pics?

I definitly don't have the oil jet on the replacement tranny

Either, the new one is "new and improved" or Acura is thinking "Why waste an oil jet on a car with only 25k miles left on the warranty."

I wonder if there's a way to find out?

so then would an oil jet help our new trannies?

I got a new one about 2 weeks ago and, if the oil jet goes into the filler hole, do not have an oil jet.

Should we all go get one?

Eric?

EricL-- do I get a gold star for predicting trends? <grin>

btw in answer to this:

I think I read somewhere- that the 'new' or 'rebuilt' trannies have a modification inside them that has this oil jet 'feature' whoopeeee.

To be clear, I'm telling you (MikeS) to NOT add the band-aid to YOUR box. If you got a replacement, and it didn't get the "band-aid," I'm presuming that they upgraded the clearances -- and or other features -- to increase the "internal" flow of ATF to the second gear assembly. I can think of a number of ways to accomplish this...

That 2nd gear fix gives me the creeps, and if you got a new box that doesn't require it, don't even think about adding the "BAND-AID."

For the record: I'd hate to find out someone avoided having the second gear fix (BAND-AID) on a transmission with worn, discolored and/or broken teeth, and then had a horrible failure -- and possible accident. If they were informed about the "band-aid" fix, and later tried to sue Acura, they would, IMO, be on shaky ground. (Hey, if you think a 5-to-2 downshift is scary, the thought of the box welding it self shut at 80 MPH with a large SUV or Semi tailgating is a real horror show.)
