Dead tranny

i was driving home from work and i was getting off the freeway, all of sudden there was this jolt on my car which strarted me. i was like wtf?, so i pull up to the gas station and stop the car. dead tranny was the last thing on my mind as i start up the car and put on reverse; nothing happens. i never though this would happen to me. so after getting some help i pull out from the gas station i head home and i noticed that my car is jolting and at times i feel that the gear is in netural. so here is my questions, how long does replacement tranny take and also what kind of rental car do i expect from the dearship. i have 01 acura cls w/nai with 68k under extended warrenty. and also after replacing the tranny, is it reliable? if not i am thinking about trading in my car..

search the transmission forum. You will be fine till 100k miles. The loaner depends on your dealer.

Loaner most likely will be a TSX. I've also heard that people get '04 TL's and RSX-S's for loaners too.

Welcome to the club. I got a '04 TL for two weeks while my trans was being replaced. I think it all depends on the dealer what kind of loaner you get. You might suggest to the dealer that you were thinking about trading for a new TL. I would keep your CL, but be prepared for another trans failure. You can always dump it at 100k. Good luck!
