Every '99-'02 has a 7-year/100,000-mile warranty on it automatically. Some '03's received it, too. Quickest way to find out is to call an Acura dealership with the VIN number.

There is no way to know if it is fixed .. Acura has implemented 4 distinct fixes over the course of the past 18 months (with each previous fix not actually resolving the problem) .. with claims that each fix would resolve the problem .. so .. you may know know which on you have and none appear to completely resolve the situation .. it's a gamble no matter what you do

I don't honestly think that they are fixed, they've just been patching one thing after another (5 times now) and I think the same transmission is used in the new TL. But I am kind of biased, I dropped my first transmission at 43,700 (bout 1.5 months ago) and the second one blew by 44,800 (bout a week later) and now I'm hoping that what I feel in the third one (45,800) is only my mind playing tricks on me, either way I might look into getting rid of it.

I personally have an 01 CL-S with 64k miles with no problems and had the PCM replaced because they said it needed it. But even then, i don't feel that comfortable when driving long distance.

I'm looking to trade mine in for a 2000 3.5RL.

But it all comes down to you really. They are nice cars, just that i drive long distance, I dont' want to have it in the back of my head. Thinking or just waiting for it to fail.

Best of luck to you,

-D
