which would you choose?

okay, so i fell in love with axis hiros and i wanted to put them on my CL.

$1500 shipped with tires for 18x8.5

well, they only come in 8.5"+ widths with fairly low offsets, and none of them will fit correctly on a CL, so now i want to cry.

im on a mission to find something comperable, or something that i like as much as i like the hiros.... i have always been a fan of 5/6 spoke wheels, and for a bigger car like the CL, i like the spokes to be a little beefier (like the hiros, as opposed to the axis reverbs which are still nice but the spokes are narrower).

$1500 shipped with tires. 18x7.5
(reverbs are also only available in black, gunmetal and gold)

the other style of wheel i really like is a split 5 spoke, like the work meister s2r. i LOVE those wheels, but damn are they pricey.. they are available in a size/offset that will fit the CL. PIAA also makes a wheel similar in design to the meisters, and is slightly less expensive. multi and monoblock are available.

work meister s2r, 18x8, $2890 shipped with tires

PIAA super rozza multi-piece

$2500 shipped with tires for 19s, so im figuring maybe $2000 for 18"

PIAA super rozza monoblock

no price listed, but im assuming they are less expensive because they are 1 piece.

axis matrix. they come in 19x8, but i don't know the offset.

$2000ish with tires, shipped

rays gram light 57RC

dunno widths, offsets or prices but i know they come in 17 and 18

G Games (by rays) model 99 (only available in 19") (dunno offset, width or price)

lexion (by rays) 203s. they come in 18 19 and 20. dunno what widths, offsets or price...

just want some input on what you all think i should do.. i have a while before i make a decision, i just like to know what my plans are.

i realize that i need to find out more info on a lot of these wheels, but this is all preliminary work as of now. thanks

Coincidence, but I had already looked at 3 of these wheels months ago with basically the same realization. The Hiros are badass, but the width is jacked up. The Meisters are exclusive, but equally expensive and the PIAA's while cheaper than Works are still expensive but badass anyway.

More coincidence, we have the same color car. Personally I would shoot for the Work S2R's or VS-SS if you don't mind the money. An easier choice would be the PIAA's. Check out the Mega Meet thread for a pic or two of these on a CL. (19's) The monos are...ok, but not great looking IMO. Other than those 3 brands, I think some Volks look good, but again expensive. I'm picky about wheels, so see what the others say.

The other choices you have don't appeal to me personally at all.

thanks for your input, bro

i'd really like to see a pic of a 2nd gen CL with the works on it, but i noticed that there are a handful of really long 'mega meet' threads in the meets forum.. do you remember which one it was, specifically?

okay, so i found out that the PIAA super rozza 2piece come in 18x7.5 +48, and 19x7.5 +42.

would either of those sizes work on my 2nd gen that will be dropped apprx 2"?

and, according to what i found out about the 1 piece version, they are 18x8 or 19x8 +35. that's too low, right? (not to mention that ive only ever seen them in 5x100 and 5x112 bolt patterns.. CLs are 5x114, right?)

pardon my ignorance, im new to the CL community but i know that in general, hondas require high offsets.

i found the pics of the PIAAs on the red CL, but no one has posted a pic of it that really shows how they look. the angles are funky on the pics i saw. hopefully someone has a better shot. his car doesn't look very low, either.

His car is good and low. I couldn't get a finger in the rear. I asked about it and he said it rides nice, but that's specific to the individual. It sits about as low as you want to go too. Trust me, the wheels and stance are beautiful.

yeah, this shot doesn't really do much for getting a good look at it. the front looks high but the rear looks low. i think its just the angle.

here's another shot of the G-games model 99, but i can't find any info on widths or offsets.

edit: found em. they are called the baracuda, and the smallest width they come in is 8.5". scratch them from the list.

I'm liking the PIAA Rozza Mult-peice I'd get an 18 in that. Although I say the Axis rims are the best deal.

Them MuthaSanchez's are expensive though, otherwise I'd have 'em already. (PIAA)

Yo Little Brad, what kind of offsets do the Axis Hiros come in? I emailed Axis a couple days ago, but still no response. Hoping the backspace isn't too rediculous and that they will somehow fit over a Rotora BBK. I wonder how the TL'ers are running them.

If you are leaning towards the PIAAs, check out the Ace Spyders.
You should be able to pick them up for < $200 / wheel.
