Chrome is also more expensive and if I had chromes I would not leave them on in the winter time.

Chrome wheels are chrome plated aluminum wheels. Polished wheels are machine polished aluminum wheels. Some aluminum wheels, polished or not, are clearcoated or bare finished. Salt will hurt all of them.

I bought some polished rims for my last vehicle and they looked good for about 2 weeks but then they lost their shine. They were still pretty shiny, but not like they were a few weeks before.

I have chromed CLS rims and they're as shiny as they were in the showroom. It takes very little to keep them shiny.

After having these rims, I'll NEVER get polished rims again. Spring for the chromed versions!

I just looked through some photos and found one that does a decent job of showing the chromed CLS rims. It really doesn't do it justice though...it looks way better in person.

Mine came on the car...it was the showroom car. But I've taken my car to other Acura dealers for oil changes and they said mine were the best chroming job they've ever seen. All the service guys kept coming up to me and saying how great they looked. Since the car came like that, I'm not sure where they got it done at...but I would shop around and see if you can't see samples of their work. I also don't know what prices are for this, but I believe I paid around $1500 extra for mine (I could have talked them down, but I got a free spoiler instead). So probably expect to pay around $300/wheel.

great call on the chrome...Im for sure i will chrome the stock instead of getting aftermarket. Maybe after 3 years i will get nice aftermarket rims. I hate to be a pain, but do you have pics of your whole car? Im planning on getting the black as well....

Sure thing. This is the only decent picture I have of it right now.

You can see my old 89 Chevy Silverado in the background...I miss that truck! I gave it to my mother when I got this car. So here's a 50 year old woman driving around in a 89 Silverado with the 350 engine, cat-back exhaust w/ dual chrome tips, custom pulleys, chip, polished rims, etc.

Here it is...
