I got my second impact flat in 2 weeks on my 02CLS. The car has about 18k. I bought the first tire, a stock michilin, at mavis Tire store here on LI. I called the guy to tell him about the 2nd impact flat and he tells me that its comine in low profile tires, and its going to keep happening. $216 for new ones this is nuts, what am I going to need tires every week?
Does anybody have stock Michilins that they want to sell?

I would recommend dumping those OEM nightmare tires and do yourself a favor and get SOME REAL PERFORMANCE TIRES ! Now if your one of those drivers that hits curbs all the time, that could be an issue......
For the record, the OEM tires from Michilem SUCK BIG TIME AND ARE W A Y OVERPRICED !!

For another $200, get 4 sumitomo + and get the road hazard warranty. Sears may meet the Tirerack price of $89 if you print out the Tirerack invoice.

SanMarino, where on LI r u, and where did the blowouts happen???
Im in Rockville Centre,I drive to work in Great Neck everyday on the Cross Island, Northern Blvd, I do my best to avoid all pot holes etc, but this is rediculous.
The car is a bone stock lease, Im not putting a dollar into it, in fact I would get rid of it if I could. till I got this car I was never in an accident, never even had a scratch on any of my other cars, with the CLS I have been rearended by a Dick on a cell phone driving his daddys A4. Been hit in the rear quarter panel by a mothe rwho couldnt stear her QX4 into a parking spot at Seamens in Carle Place, and now the flats, I think this car is a jinx

According to Tirerack the Sumitomos are supposed to be great for traction...if I start getting flats or wearing down the tires, that is what I am going to get. The Michelins on our cars are the worst. No grip at all.

I have the Sumi HTR+ for close to 2000 miles.
world of difference compared to the Bichelins. I love them dry, wet, and snow. Overall incredible All Season performer.
If you want to stay w/ the OEM tires, i would consider going to NTB and purchasing road hazard warranty for the tires that are currently on your car. I have never done it, but I've heard several members on this board who have. They should cover impact flats. As always read their fine line in the warranty card.
