i'm sure they must be different.
tein says you can't upgrade the ss to ss-p, so they sure as hell better be different.

your answer is partly in this thread i started.
The pillowpall uppermounts are solely for the reason of utilizing the EDFC in conjuntion with the SS kit.
HOWEVER, you cannot purchase the Pillowball uppermounts separetly (as stated in the thread that i linked to above), that is what TEIN told me when i asked them if they could be purchased separately.
As for handling improvement, yes it can help, but only if you know how to set it up. But if your car is for daily driving, I dont think it's worth it. If you track your car I'd say go for it. The freeways and roads are so bad that you probably don't want to make your ride so stiff anyways otherwise it'll be rough. So I dont see how the EDFC could help on normal streets. Although at one point i thought it would be cool to have, but after re-thinking it, i'd only get it if i tracked my car.

Personally, I think the EDFC was worth it for me. It may not be worth the extra money for the Tein SS-P PLUS the EDFC, but on my TL-S, I just needed to spend the extra ~$300 for the EDFC itself.
Advantages in everyday driving? ... If I'm driving a long distance on the highway, I can put the ride at its softest setting ... Great when I'd rather have a comfy ride and preserve my posterior ... For everyday driving I leave it in the middle. Gives a good balance of handling and comfort ... and for those days when I'm just cruising, tearing up the roads (which doesn't happen too often in the TL anymore)... I can set it to a harder setting for better cornering.
Also during drag strip use, it helps to lower my 60' times by keeping the rear shocks hard and the front shocks softer to try to redistribute the weight towards the front. (It does make a difference, I tried some different settings on a few runs and I was able to get my lowest 60' time ever with this configuration).
Is it worth an extra $600 plus installation for the EDFC? ... I'm not really sure, thats up to you ... But it was worth it for me to get it on the TL-S.

thanks for the input..i think ill just stick with the ss and no edfc..although i would like the convienience of the edfc. but personally i wouldnt think its worth spending the extra money for parts and install. i usually use the car to go to work and ocasionally go here and there. but thanks for the input!
