Tein basics height adjustment question
Tein basics height adjustment question
Hi Guys,
I had my Tein basics installed last week and have noticed that the wheel/fender gaps are not even all around. I was told that when the coilovers settle the ride height will adjust. It has been a week and I have put 600 miles on my car since last week, my commute alone is 500 miles a week. I figured with all those miles and driving more spirited than usual the would have settled some already. (I measured the gaps when I had the coilovers put on and again today and there was little if any change.)
Here are the measurements of the front L+R heights and what the teins are set at.
RF Coilover was set at 1.2 in from bottom of thread (Almost a 3 finger gap)I adjusted this .75in (now a 2 finger gap)
LF Coilover is still set a 1.2in from bottom of thread. (2 finger gap)Top of fender well on both sides are now 14" from center of wheel as recommended in installation manual.
I want to know if I did this correctly, is it OK that the perch on each coilover is set at different heights to even out the gap on each side?
I plan to fix the rears tomorrow, since the LR is at a 2 finger gap and the RR is at a 3 finger gap.
Thanks

independent suspension will do that to you... you just have to play with it..
I will when I get my camber kits on and after I've put some miles on these coilovers. Thus far, I'm having a couple of consistency issues (going from 2 finger gap to 1.5 and the such), but I've only driven a total of 80 miles on these new coilovers.
When I get my stuff taken care of I'll definitely re-adjust height and such.
But from what Smitty is saying, yes, it is okay to play around w/ the perch settings to get an even ride. Each car after all is, different and requires different settings and measurements.
