Suspension problem.......I think.

Ok, here is my delimma. I am dropped on Eibachs with Tokico Blues and every time I drive and hit a bump I hear sort of a knocking sound coming from my right front (passenger side). Also, my back passenger tire is starting to wear (driver side is fine). Could that knock be coming from a bad strut? I have had the struts for about 12k that I bought from a member her and when I bought them he told me they had less than 10k on them.

I hope you will be able to see the difference from the pics. Just tryin to get some help from the gurus at AZ before I take it to a shop. Why would one side be off and not the other?

FYI.....I DO NOT have a camber kit in the front, only the back. When I got an alignment a while ago the front was within specs.

The smallest bump/pothole at descent speeds, and immediately knock an alignment out of whack! I am slammed on K-Sport coilovers, and I dont need a front camber kit......but every car is different! As far as the knocking sound......check you end-links that are attached to the stock sway bars...being lowered can have a drastic effect on those damn end-link bushings. Hope this helps

I think you have installed a couple of blown struts. Why you would bother installing used struts is beyond my understanding. A new set of blues can be had on ebay for about $250. It’s too much trouble to skimp out and you can be left in situations like this without the luxury of ruling out the struts.

Anyway, you did and we are now here. My first thought is that you have a blown strut on the passenger side or both are blown on the passenger side. You should start by getting an alignment if you did not already. If they give you the specs and tell you the right side of the car is sitting to low to correct the front wheel something is certainly up. A blown strut of two of them on the same side would and could cause your problem and noise. The noise could also be caused by a combination of the drop and wear to the ball joints, inner and outer tie rods. Mine is doing that now and is due for a replacement. I get a solid clunking over and bump from either front wheel. It is potentially a very serious problem I should have taken care of long ago. Luckily I have two cars. You may also look into the possibility you have a mismatched set of springs. You should start there.
Its either that you have a serious suspension problem with the ball joints and or you have a spring problem and or a strut problem. If you have figured it out, what happened?
