Suspension problem?
Suspension problem?
Hey Guys,
I recently got new rims and tires for my CL, but when I am going over large bumps, the tires in the back rub. I also recently noticed that when I go over medium and large size bumps, something rattles in the back of the car. I was looking at a Tein SS Coilover Kit, but was wondering how I can get the tires to not rub when I am going over large bumps and what that rattling noise is. It sounds like something is loose and sounds really bad, so any suggestions will be appreciated and helpful. I checked to see if something was loose in the back area of the car, but was not able to find anything. Would a complete suspension kit, like the one I mentioned, solve the rubbing of the tires and the rattle I hear in the back when I go over medium/large size bumps?

make sure nothing is loose in your trunk like the jack or jack tools.
the rubbing is coming from the fender. if you put your hand there, you can feel a lip that sticks in. many of us either cut the fender or roll it. you will definately need to do this when you lower your car.
Your new tires are probably wider and have a higher offset then the stocks. Thats why your stocks didnt rub.
btw, you should have posted this in the tires and suspension section.
