Shipping wheels...

Has anyone ever shipped wheels? What's the best way to ship them and who will ship them for the least amount of money? Any info would help. Thanks.

I've shipped wheels with tire on them before. I used round pieces of cardboard on both sides of the tire, then strapped or taped them into place. I saw that Tire Rack did it that way and it works well. If it's wheels only, I would over-pack them with heavy-duty paper, a 4 to 6 inch crush space between the rim and the box. Then tape the box with fiber re-enforced tape. I always use UPS to ship stuff because I am the shipping manager at my work.

Do what he did. Just cover the front of the rim.

My 2003 CL stock Wheels/Tires made it safely all the way from PA to Phoenix, AZ packaged like this.
It cost about 125 bucks total via Fed-EX ground w/insurance.

Yea, I guess I do.

I just happened to have this handy because the buyer sent me the money before I shipped them out so I wanted to show him that they were all packaged up and ready to go.

Also, Fed-Ex is cheaper than UPS.
