Rim question....?

So i recently got a set of ADR M-Sports as a gift. 18x8.5 35+ I KNOW.... But my friend said i could trade them in. I am going to be running a 225 tire with no drop, what offset would you guys suggest? I was thinking 42+, buy 45+ sounds too conservative? Any input is appreciated, thanks guys. Oh btw, 01 CL-S

+45 will sit pretty flush.
but without a drop, it will look horrendous. get coilovers first.

dude i would love to lower my ride, but there is the thought of rolling fenders and all that, and i do not want to sacrifice the smooth ride. what coilovers did you have in mind? price? also would i need spacers or is the guys at Big O bullshitting me?

i would get coilovers, a good set with a camber kit will run you over $1,000. i would drop the car before getting the wheels, your car is going to look without it. if you can trade these wheels in, why not get 19s. 18s are pointless when your already running a stock 17.

I traded them in for the exact same rims except now 45+ offset. Would a 225/40/18 tire fit on it? someone said that the offset on the tire doesnt matter, is he full of bs?
