Re: H&R Spring

yea yea I know, another H&R thread

anyway, it seems everyone is using part# 51858 on their CL's regardless of the year. why is that?? shouldn't the '03 Accord Springs go on the '03 CL's??

according to H&R website: http://www.hrsprings.com/site/frames...lications.html
#51858 is the Sport Springs for the 2001 V6 Accord 2dr
#51858-55 is the OE Sport Springs for the 2001 V6 Accord 2dr (someone here mentioned they had these too)
#51808 is the Sport Spring for the 2003 V6 Accord 2dr

Can someone please explain this?

#50103 From what I have been reading are made for the Tl/CL's. It basically keeps the back from lowering so much since the CL and TL are heavier. Its supposed to give a VERY SLIGHT rake up front. But everyone on this forum almost seems to have the 51858's on their car. I think I had Pm'ed MrSteve about his H&R sport drop and I believe he said he has the 50103's. ( I might be wrong on that one) From his pic he sent me the 50103 dropped his car to a "barely" two finger gap on the rear and about a two finger gap on the front.

I would like to order the 50103's but they seem go for about $160 and up while the 51858's seem to be going for around $130 and up.

The CL/TL body stayed the same from 01-03, but the 03 Accord body changed.

I did Pm him (mrsteve) and he told me he has the 50103's. Maybe he got them confused I dunno.... Fock it, I think I will order the 50103's in a few weeks with tokico blues. I'll post the PM up tonight when I get home. He included pics of the drop.

1. Do you have any more pics with a little more lighting?

2. Im also thinking that since you took the pics the day of install, they may have settled and lowered more, any pics after settling?

Okay its raining and I have lots of stuff in the trunk today so i'm gonna show you all the pics I have relevant to the suspension.

In this pic my car is beginning to move, so the rear end is squatting

3. Which model number did you get for these springs, 50103?

Part #: 50103

Yes

4. About what finger gap or inches are between the fenders on the front and rear?

See pics above

5. How's the ride as far as comfort is concerned vs stock ride since you have had them on for some time now?

The ride is great. Not that much different than stock. I also replaced the struts with Tokico HP's

My main concern about the H&R springs, is that it will be too low. (Im running stock 01 CL-S wheels with stock tire size) Your pics from the thread are pretty good though Im wondering how low it actually is.

I've never had a problem with the car being too low.

Im really sorry about all the questions, Im really torn about what suspension set-up to get since my cash flow for car spending went down more than anticipated.

Any info or pics you can provide will be greatly appreciated!!!

THanks,

Chris

Hope I helped.
