Question on rim fitment

Ok so ive noticed that lots of people are not fans of the 20inch rims on the cl's but I still manage to see the beauty in them. Anyways, i have 03 cls mt. and my question is for those who own 20in rims or have lots of knowledge on them. 20x7.5" +42mm offset, how much can I drop so i dont get the 4x4 look before it hits rubber? I have the h&r oem springs i believe it drops 1.5 - almost 2inches. but have not installed yet. Im thinkin I cant drop that much with 20's or can I... Any suggestions before I order..
Thanks

It's an even better place if you use the search tool. 20s have been discussed to death here.

Bottom line:

they don't fit
they look like shit
don't do it

Hey I made a rhyme.

H&R I believe drops 1" all around, the sports are probably what you have the specs on.

Not that many people are that familiar with 20's because they don't fit without extra modification to the car.

Only a few people on the board have them, one has a widebody custom kit and it's a heavily modified show car. Another is bagged. And there is one other that is closer to stock, but I don't think the specs on his wheels match yours.

thanks for the reply.. I did check and use the search, so calm down...kinda dissapointing when the moderator responds in that fashion...
Anyways, I noticed mkomaee's acura( and let me say dayum... its the nicest cl iv seen along with morgan's) and it FITS GOOD.. Just ordered foose speedster, 20x7.5 with +45 offset and will have by next tuesday. I got the package for $2150 shipped with nitto 555 tires balanced with new lugs.. I think this was a good deal considering other places are selling them for much more. For those who care, I will post pics of my o3 cl siver with the new wheels once its on.

I have 20" LORINSER D-93 wheels on my CL-S. As a matter of fact I was the FIRST here to do it! My wheels are 20" x 9.5" and a +50 offset. My car IS LOWERED with EIBACH springs and KONI shocks, 2.0 inches. I DID have to have the rear fenders rolled, but other than that NO OTHER MODIFICATION. My tires are PIRELLI 245x30x20 PZERO NEROs. I get ABSOLUTELY NO RUBBING and I have an ACURA DEALERSHIP to very this! They are JERRY DAMSON ACURA (ask ANYONE in the service department) and their phone number is (256)533-4105. I have been on this site since I bought my car is 2001, and it sickens me to listen to all these IGNORANT IDIOTS that hate on people that desire larger chrome wheels and smaller tires versus that B/S that makes the car look cheaper than it already is. I have PLENTY of pictures and if anyone can help me post them, I will post whatever you want to see. My wheels and tires tuck in the rear like most of these guys WISHES theirs would and again, I get NO RUBBING on 9.5" wide wheels.

i got 20x7.5 with 42 offset (perfect offset with the 7.5 fits flush to the car) and my ride is immaculate, the gap is about an inch and a half big which doesnt bother me because i enjoy the ride so much, i've been told by everybody that 225-35-20 is the biggest tire you can go and i went the toyo proxes 4 and love the setup so far, i also just installed some brembo rotors, serious stopping power!!!! i will post pics asap

Talk with Fernado, I just called and figured everything out. You can email him with whatever rims you want in that size and he'll give you price...Hes got the best prices that ive seen. My bro is ordering Niche rhines in 20's with tires for the same price as my foose speedster. Tell him you got a cl..Im going to tell him people with cl will be contacting him..Man im bring this guy lots of business in one week.
