Occasional vibration when accelerating.
Background information:
When I accelerate in a little higher r.p.m.s than I normally do (around 3k-4k) I feel a slight but noticeable vibration in the steering wheel and gas peddle. It can get pretty annoying. This only happens about every other time. I believe the vibration is comming from the passenger side.
At 70 mph, everything feels good (smooth and steady) and when I brake, the same, no vibrations in the steering wheel or anything.
I was looking at my tires today and the front passenger side tire has a uneven wear 'strip' near the sidewall (see pictures), but the driver side seems to fine with normal wear (some pictures below also). I had the car aligned (hunter) after it was lowered by my friend's mechanic and everything was up to spec (about 1k miles ago, vibration did happened before the car was lowered). I don't believe I have been on any bumps that could have thrown off the alignment. I havent had my tires balanced for a while though.
Now for the questions: Are the two related? What can be causing these two things?
Pictures:
Thanks!

The vibrations have gotten quite a bit worst, I'm taking it in tommorow to a local honda/acura specialist tommorow at 8. They install my crank pulley in less than an hour for only $75. A lot of my friends with teggys love this place (Cartek). I will post an update tommorow when we find out whats up.

Sorry to see that your whip got stolen, what are you driving now? Damn auto theft over here, my cousin has had two fully performance modified whips bucked.

proffesion...axle breaker
axels from a stealership can run you upwards to $700ish...but any normal shop will quote you $100-$200.
im rockin my sisters accord for the summer, then looking into another EG hatch...but insurance really ass raped me so im in the pits now money wise.

A passenger-side axle was the culprit, I should get the car back around 2 or 3 p.m. I got the axles for $100 each (thanks to stealth giving me an idea about how much they should cost) and I'm going to have both replaced since I plan to drive this car to the ground.

Sorry for the late post. I had the same issue on an old Accord. The axle was busted. I found it funny how it never made any clicking sounds (like the sparks from the wires) when I made sharp turns at low speeds. Also, my ball joint was coming apart as well. Coupled with the bad axle that made the wheels shift which caused bad wear in certain spots like I saw in your pics (newbie roller blader, wheels out).
My current CL seems a bit off. When i hit pot holes on tehhighway the rear end fish tails like a motha!! Anyone experience this? I wanted to go in for an alignment but my mechanic doesn't have the machine so I'll have to venture out and find a good place here in NYC. 1998 CL-P.

As for your CL that fish tailing thing seems odd, never read of that before on the 1st gen forum which I visit occasionally. Sounds as if you might be botteming out.
I can give you one piece of advice: DON'T go to tireplus. I've had nothing but bad experiences with them (more than one store, owned by different people), same with my half brother (hes about your age, so hes been maintaining cars for much longer than me).

I still have a slight vibration left, but significantly less than before, I am going to get the tires balanced tommorow. I have a feeling its the fast wearing dunlops near their end.
To GM: I guess launching the car hard would do it especially with drag radials neither of which I did. The previous owner did install comptech headers on it, so opens up a whole bunch of possibilities.
