New Rims offset question

Hey guys,

I have a question.
Will 18"x 7.5" rims,5 x114.3, with a +42 offset fit my 2003 acura CL- S?

I am using the factory rims with snow tires and want to use a new rim with summer tire. I really need to have the abilitiy to take off/ put on tires between seasons.

Let me know your thoughts about the offset and what I can do about it.

thanks

Shouldn't be a problem. I know it's not a problem on the 01's, they can handle a 42 offset fine (a slight rub here or there depending on the load, ride height, and driving style), and I don't believe there is anything different with the 03's.

42 will stick out there kinda.........not a rubbing issue, but you may not like the look.

I have 45 and it's too far for my taste.

+42 seems a bit low.
You might rub if you drop the car.
I’m running 18” - 7.5 wide and +48 offset.
I have TEIN coilovers on the car and it isn't dropped too radically.

You WILL rub if you drop it & put on 235-45-17 tires. I had that setup & rubbed on some HW bumps, speedbumps & driveways. With a 225 tire you may not rub at all however.

u probably want to go with a higher offset, like +45 or +48 if it is available.

gotta post some pics! Don't see too many dubs around here...

as for the rubbing issue, you may experience some rubbing if you don't roll the fenders... +42 or +43 is a little low but will fit. If you can get a +45 get it, but if you get a stellar deal and don't mind rolling fenders, run with the +43.

42 is close but will only rub occassionally. I have a TLS with 18x7.5 and a 42 offset wrapped in 225 tires and I rub on occassion. I might be getting 235 tires so I know I will rub. Oh and I am stock height...unforeskinitly!
