locking lugs

are these even worth the investment? im a little disappointed to know that i ordered a set of gorilla locks, and was able to use both of my friends keys (one from a different manufacturer) to tighten and loosen the lugs...

Is there only one generic key design?

I dont see how these prevent theft other than spur of the moment type deals, which most thefts arent... i mean all a person would have to do is buy a lock set, or by chance already have a key of their own...

Is any other sort of security i can get?

I *believe* OEM Honda/Acura locking lug nut keys are different. I tested it out on my car vs. my brothers Accord, and it didn't work.

gorilla's basic locking set (the one with 6 punches on the outside) are probably gonna be very similar to each other. but there are higher end ones you can buy. don't expect much out of them other than being a deterrent, and you can simply force a socket onto them or buy locking nut removing sockets

If it helps, you can get the OEM wheel locks directly from the mfr, McGard. Call them at 800.444.5847. Many configs so not so easy to steal.

...oh, and I forgot to add that if you are replacing a lost lug key you can get it replaced by just calling in and paying about $15 if you have the julian date, which is printed on the insert in the plastic case the lugs came in.

I got two different sets of locking keys on my a-specs (i love those damn wheels) however the lugnuts can still be taken off with by jamming rubber in a socket then cramming the socket on the lug. (had broken a lugnut off once and the guy did that to remove the rest of it) I got a code 3 alarm with a tilt sensor, if the car is jacked up my alarm goes off and goes to my cell phone.... thats the best investment for wheels, that i know of. my
