Knocking in front suspension

Hey guys. Whenever I make a right hand turn, I hear a knocking sound coming from the left side of my front suspension. I was thinking maybe its a broken shock or some type of rod. I've seen others with similar problems with a search, but was wondering if anyone had any opinions, and info on the cost to replace. Thanks.

What about the steering, is it just a sound or can you tell something is up with the steering. Does it feel loose, is it jerky, are you out of alignment. Give some more details on the steering, because if its something like an axle or tie rod end, you will feel it in the steering wheel also.

The steering feels like normal, or at least what I've been used to. The car was aligned recently, but I have a feeling that a pothole a couple weeks ago is to blame. I'll take it to the dealership and see what they say I suppose. I've been taking it easy on the car lately with no hard cornering, so I'm not really sure on any real effects of the knocking sound on performance, just that annoying sound. Thanks.

noise when turning

my car make popping noises when i turn left or right and if suspension moves, tracked it down to a bad lower ball joint. I even put factory springs back on to rid the noises. bad balljoint all this time. i have spc upper balljoints now and new low balljoints waiting to be installed

I would have guessed a lower ball joint for you duncan, but for CPA, his makes the sounds only when turning one way. If it was his lower ball joint, it would have been like yours and made a sound more often than when he just made a right turn.... I am confused, I dont know what it could be just by what he told me,

Bad ball joint or possibly bad CV joint.

i know this is an old thread, but no use of me making another one.

i get it when i turn my wheel a lot... i think it happens all or most of the time when i'm in a drive way where i'm stopped and turn the wheel all the way. i hear a knock/click and i can feel it through the foot wall...

this problem came up recently after i switched my rims from 18 to 19". is it the ball joints?

if so how much would it cost to replace? DIY?
