Hmmmmmm, which wheel???

Ok, so mods, I know that this probably should be in the wheels section, but could we leave it here for now so that peeps can see it????

So, anyways, I know that I sold the CL-S, but you guys are much cooler than the TL guys, so I fugured I would get more responses over here. I am trying to decide on which of these wheels to put on my 04 Anthracite TL six speed . . . .
Axis Hiro

Axis Reverb

Enkei PK6

They would be going on this bad girl here. . . .

So what you think??? Ilike the Axis Reverb cause it is light and has hollow spokes, but I am also worried that it would not do well with potholes. The Hiro is cool, but I would have to powdercoat it black. The Enkei I am not sure about, but my brother says I should keep it in the running. Anyways, what do y'all think??

None of those wheels. U drive a TL. Not a G35 or 330.. You chose lux over sport. So the rims your choosing are ALL WRONG for this FWD car.
Some RonJon wheels would be perfect.

Damn, a little heated about this are we??? No offense to RonJon or his efforts, but none of his wheels speak to me.

yah like what 1sicklex said... the wheels u chose are too "Tuner wheel looking " and TL is acually more lux looking than Sporty.

supermesh or Milano should look better than Hiro and reverb on your car.

See my problem is that is too busy a wheel for me, I like the nice simple, thick couple of spokes. I wish that I could put them on my car and see what they look like and then go from there. Oh well.

I agree.

The first two wheels look to "civic" to me. I like the style of the 3rd though.

Hey dude. are u going up in size? is stock 17"? I like polished or bright silver rims, not chrome or painted. but of those 3 the Hiro is much better, simple and not too dark. I still love the SSR GT1 rims, lightweight and semi-forged, they'd look good on your TL. As soon as I can find some to look at I may buy em.

I semi-agree with what most are saying. The first two are VERY nice wheels, but remind of me a wheel that would go on some type of RWD car with an offset in the back and small offset in the front (3 series, 350Z, g35, etc .. )

if anything I'd say the 3rd one would be best .. take a look at some stuff by 5Zigen, because I know for a fact that their "Hyper Black" color is almost an exact match to Anthracite Metallic (which is what I'm assuming the name of your paint is). I have an anthracite CLS with 5Zigen Super Six's and the spokes are hyper black, which is a very close match to my paint .. with a polished lip. I think they look awesome and I get compliments all the time.

I really like the Axis Hiro's G. I actually thought about getting rid of my RH C2's to get them for the 6MT (when one comes my way )

Call me for further discussion

I like those volks on that TL, and the color of those spokes would look AWESOME on an anthracite.

big bucks though.

Volks are great wheels. And again, gunmetal on a TL=
There is a great editorial in Road and Track this month about people adding things to cars to look like something they are not. This is a good example. The jest of the article was people add things to make them look like something more expensive or like like something else and all you day is look like an ass. Especially to those that know what is what (enthusiasts).
I see TL (we see TL) we think luxury, not sport. No matter what marketing tells us. Some mesh wheels would look great, imo. Or continue with your rim choices, just not gunmetal.

Some stock cars with gunmetal rims.
EVO VII MR
Benz CL 65 (713lbs of torque!)

Now if you add forced induction to your TL, YES, then gunmetal is more than appropriate.

Just my . you can do whatever the hell your mind wants and your budget can get.

I dunno, i think gunmetal looks great on the A4. I was actually thinking of black wheels with a polished lip for my car

Sigh, I'm just an young dude thats an old-fashioned purist....We live in a day and age where Pontiac Grand Prixs paint their 10" brakes red, where SUVs try to have more sport and utility and Nissan Sentras have a Brembo brake option without ABS..

I think black rims on any black car looks great. Seeing black rims on any other color means you got some serious performance mods.

I had black rims on my black CL-S and I thought that they looked great. But, what makes you think that black on any other color mean that there is lots under the hood???

Got Hiros on an 00TL-P and they look clean. I have the gunmetal color too... Just a heads up though, DON'T BUY YOUR RIMS FROM WHEELS NEXT... this is a thread that i have started just getting the word out about what happend to me.
http://www.acura-tl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95776
otherwise i think the rims look clean, but they just don't fit right!
If i get some responses I will try and get some pics up. Go for the Hiros though, they are super clean.

by your reasoning then all lexus cars should have 22 inch chrome wheels.

Wheels are the style of the owner, if there were set rules then everyone would look the same. How boring.
