HELP with Dropping my CL
HELP with Dropping my CL
Alright, I just got some new rims on my car, and I like them a lot. The only thing I don't like now is the huge space between the tire and the wheel well, so now I want to drop my car.
I need some suggestions on what brands of springs I should go with, and how much should I be looking to pay with parts and labor of getting them installed.

H&R (51858) vs. Comptech (110-135).
Hope this clears up any headaches and debates over which springs to get etc... I remember whenever someone posts a thread on spring preference, everyone just votes for what they have. Well, having been through both, I hope my 2 cents will take care of your headache. (that is, if you're in the market for springs).
The Comptech's upon inspection look more sophisticated... a silver look being fatter around with rubber spacers in the rear incase the coils collide. The H&R's are yellow with no spacers... But whatever, its just a spring.
As for the ride quality: I tried them all. Hard lefts, hard rights, bumpies, smoothies, acceleration... They're exactly the same. The moderate drop for both don't produce any camber issues either. With this, I guess your decision should be based on appearance.
The Comptech front is lower, and in fact gives a 'rake look', whereas the H&R sport doesn't drop as much in the front, but makes the car's weight appear to be distributed more evenly.

if I'm looking for a comfortable ride quality and stock smoothness, would i go with comptech springs or h&r stage 2 drop(1.75" front, 1.5"back)? I had the comptech's installed and the ride was kinda harsh, but they were used when i bought them. Should I just buy brand new one's and get them installed at PAA, or get the H&R's installed at PAA? anybody help, I am in need of a smooth ride with the droped look.
