Camber install/alignment question

So I've had my teins on for a while, and have just got around to thinking about getting an alignment and putting on camber kits. What exactly is the procedure of getting this done? Take it to the alignment shop, see how far off the alignment is, then install the camber kits as need, then take it back to the shop to get it re-aligned? Would it be a good idea to have the same shop install the camber kits and get it re-aligned the all at the same time, or would I really save much cash to take the car home and put the camber kits on myself then take it back for the re-alignment?

are the tires having noticeable camber wear? you can either take it to the shop to see if they can correct it or just install the kits yourself and then take it.

Yeah, there's deffinately noticable camber wear on my tires, especially since I dropped it even more a couple weeks ago to about a 1 finger gap all around. I've already have a front Ingalls kit for the extreme drop, but not sure if that's the right kit I need, and I have the rear Ingalls kit coming in the mail. Should I install the rear kit as soon as I get it in, then take it into the shop to get an alignment, and see if I have the right kit for the fronts?

the extreme?! is that the one with the new control arms or just the ball joints?

i would say the one you have will work for sure. just get in the rear set and take it in for alignment. FYI...the rears are super easy!

Its just the balljoint, but its the one for +1.5/+3 degrees (I guess that would be for extreme drops) of camber adjustment. For the rear just remove the old bars, and extend the new ones to the same length and install those, right? The fronts seem to be a little more time consuming though. Need to get some tires asap too.

ya those balljoints will work fine. yep the rear is that easy. the front is a little more difficult from what i hear. ross installed his, mine came with the complete arms and balljoints.

Got the rear camber kits installed, wasn't too bad I guess. Now I'm just wondering if there's any alignment place open tomorrow that can take care of me. How much would be a reasonable price to get the front ball joints popped out and replaced with the new kits? I might just have them do that for me instead of doing it myself.

Did that include an alignment, or just the front balljoints?

that sounds about right for just getting the balljoints installed. i would honestly do it yourself if i was you. you can rent a balljoint press from autozone for free and pop those suckers out. as long as you have the instructions the product came with its pretty easy. i remember it was a bit of a headache when i did mine, but all in all it was worth doing it myself.

Deffinately would rather do the work myself, I just know that getting those ball joints out are going to be a PITA. Got the rears in over the weekend, and the front sway bar, which went fairly smoothly.

How close to spec should I get? With about a one finger gap on all four corners, with 235/45/17s and 55offset, will I be running into any trouble with rubbing? Should I run with a little bit of negative camber, around -.5deg? Or should I not have a problem?

Just got my new tires put in, but it's raining cats & dogs out there. Hope the weather clears up sometime this week and I can put those damn ball joints in.

Wish I had a garage to work in. It's supposed to rain all week here, pretty much non-stop. Spring sucks!

The guy at the alignment shop said the fronts are about 2 degrees in and I should try and get the balljoints as close to perpendicular as possible and bring it in. If that's the case, the rears must be way off, since I can actually see the negative camber in those, but can't tell much for the fronts.

I got one of the Ball joints in. Took me about 5 hours. I eventually had to take the entire suspension apart, take out the control arm and hammer the original balljoint out. I guess next weekend I'll tackle the other side cause I got to study for finals.
