Bilstein Sports

I had Bilstein Sports installed last week. Wow, what a difference. When I put my H. Tech springs in years ago, I left the stock shocks in. The ride is fantastic now. Body lean is greatly reduced. I highly recommend them... and I also recommend Tein H. Tech springs.

I got the shocks from AJUSA for short money. They seem to have the best prices and a good reputation.

Paul

Personal preference on this, but I rank Bilstein higher then Tokicos.

Good enough for me. There's been a couple threads lately that the blues need replacement after 50k. I'm looking for something to last longer.

OP: How many miles did you have on the stock shocks? I'm running my original shocks on H-Tech springs too.

Check out Koni as well. Lifetime warranty FTW. Plus, theyre very easy to contact and can even customize the dampers for you. When I get a dedicated track car, thats the route Ill be taking.

Pretty hard to stomach the price tag though. Know if the warranty covers wear and tear?

You'll need to call them to get specifics on the coverage, but IIRC last time I spoke with them yes. It obviously wouldnt cover abuse, like if they were to gouges in the piston rod from vice grips or something like that. But if a strut were to blow, theyd replace/rebuild it. The only down side is you'd need to send the defective unit in and wait for a new one. Or buy a new one, swap it in, and when they get the defective strut theyll inspect it and refund you.

I ran the stock shocks with the Tein H.Techs for 12,000. More a function of age. They were spent. They wear out slowly. So, you don't notice. It's like night and day with the new Bilsteins.

Sent my set out to get revalved. Nothing wrong with it but I am throwing ground controls on them for a slighty more aggressive setup.

I got my set in 06 and they are still holding up very well. Not blown at all and I put over 70k on them and 6 years later.
