Anyone Have Kumho Ecsta SPT Tires?

Does anyone on here have/has had Kumho Ecsta SPT summer tires? I see them on Tire Rack for $132 each. Good price? The reviews there seem favorable. Just looking for some more input. Im not trying to break the bank on tires this time around. I want a summer tire with low road noise and excellent wet/dry traction. I like my S.Drives, but I cant see dropping that kind of money again on something that lasts me a few months.

One more thing, is a 235/35 going to look stretched on a 8.5" wheel?

I had them on my VW. They are a good tire,(no BFG KDW-2's) but for the money they worked well enough. I don't think your making a mistake by going with them. I'd use them on the CLS anyday. Right now I'm running Toyo Proxes 4 and they are wearing really fast on the front. The SPT's seemed to last longer than these Toyo's did. Don't be worried about getting them.

Just what I wanted to hear. Any idea if the 235/35 will look stretched on a 8.5" rim?

Used to have those on my old daewoo, awsome tire. Extremely good grip, little noise. They seemed to wear kind of quickly though, one summer was about the use I got out of them and for some reason they seemed to be nail magnets. Ive got general exclaim uhp's on right now and they hardly look stretched on my 8.5, im running 225/35-19. Their treadwear is unbelievably good aswell as traction and road noise, I highly reccommend them. Moreso than the SPT's

I have Kumho Ecstas on my fronts right now...don't know if they are specifically SPT or not.

I used them before on my Gti and had no issues...economical.

235 on a 8.5" wheel isn't a stretch.

a 235 should look about even on a 8.5" wheel. kumho tires are a bit fatter than those toyos pictured, so you should have a little bit of rim protection too.

I'll second this experiance. In comparison say to General UHPs or Falken ST-115s the SPTs are okay. Turn-in: Falken, SPT, General. Dry grip: Falken, SPT, General. Wet grip: General, Falken, SPT. Noise/quieter: Falken for first 15000mi, General, SPT. Ride comfort: General, Falken, SPT. Treadwear: General, Falken, SPT The Generals are a good choice for daily driver w/ good comfort, long wear, and adequate performance.
