8.5 width question with pic

I believe ive seen several people on this site with 19x8.5 rims i assume with a 45+ offset. I'm looking at getting these Neeper Moxy rims in the summer, but was wondering about the fitment. I'd run 225/35/19 tires. I have coilovers. The specs are 19x8.5 45+ . Any thoughts on fitment??

Im not asking if they look good, i already know they do

Theres also 20x8.5 45+, but i would think thats pushing it. Any way i could make them fit? lol.

I have the same question.. i'm from the 3G TL forum and am selling my rims to someone with a 2G CL. The rims are 19x8.5 (all 4) with a +45 offset wrapped in 235/35/19 tires. He has a drop but it's not too serious. Will they fit? I see everyone in this forum has a 7.5 or an 8" width but can't really seem to find 8.5. Anyone have an answer?

notorious, with a 225, the tire should fit right into the fender. you might need a slight fender roll in the back, just because our fender tabs stick downwards. if your gonna roll your fender tho i dare you to rock those dubs, your just not gonna be able ride low or else you'll rub the front for sure.

brian, those 8.5's will fit the cl pretty good. the guy will just need to bend the back fender tabs with a bat or something.

front will for sure rub on full lock turns.

rear might be able to fixed with fender roll, but that wont fix the tabs the other user is talking about. those will have to be shaved and moved back about an inch.

GL. im thinking about selling my 19s and running some new 19s that are 9" wide next summer.

I'm running a 18x8.5 with a 235/40/18. I am limited in how far I can drop because it WILL rub. My buddy has the same rim but runs a 225 and has no issues.

I was willing to give up some drop for more rubber on the road but that forced me to go with coilovers (he's running comptech springs).

My buddy ran a 225 on his 8.5's. It was a serious bitch to mount the tires and his sidewalls offered no curb protection.

He did drive like an absolute nut though and never had an issue with his skinny tire fat rim set up.

It will work, but it would be a pain in the ass dealing with day after day...as stated earlier, the front will rub a decent amount of time. If you don't mind going a little slower here and there it shouldn't bother you too much with those 8.5's.

I have 8" +45 with a 235 tire....personally, I would not go ANY wider than I am now.

Here's some pics of a CL slammed on 20's.

dude thats not even that much of a stretch. 215 can fit on a 9". 225 are rocked on 9" rims all the time. you just gotta find a spot that can mount a tire that stretched. its pretty hard so you might have trouble finding somewhere that'll do it. theres people on this board with 2g tl's with 225 on 9" rear and a 38 offset. it fits fine if you have at least a minor fender roll

word. probly gonna go with the 19s. id rather sacrifice an inch of rim for more of a drop and better fitment.

what's up lippstuh...well the wider the rim, the higher offset that you'll need on our cars to help compensate for the extra width...unless you're going for the ViP style look, and want to go the route of stretched tires/running negative camber to stuff them in for the most aggressive fit...there's no set configured offset that you "should" run...it all really depends on what type of fitment you want, what the purpose is and what modifications you're willing to make in terms of fender rolling or shaving, and stretching tires/neg camber to make them fit...or if you want to do none of the above and just want a direct no-rubbing fit (in this case i would suggest a 19x8 +50 or higher which is a pretty much safe fit but def not a wimpy looking fit either, gives you a wider wheel but also has high offset to keep you from rubbing for the most part)...hope that helps man...and if its stuff you already knew, then well maybe that can help someone else from buying poorly fitting wheels lol...if anyone can chime in with their advice, please do

i have 20"x8.5 with a 35mm offset... i was okay with no rubbing when the suspension was stock... but now since its been lowered it rubs on big dips.

I have 20x7.5 dropped 1 1/2-2 in and they will rub in the back even if you roll the fenders if you have passenger or heavy items in the trunk. It will shave a bit of tire if your taking corners fast as well.. Riding by myself I usually dont rub at all.

8.5 +50 fitment is pretty conservative and should'nt have rubbing. however 245 is pretty wide. it should fit but may have some occassional rub. i would at least go with a 235 tire.

i have 8.5" +45 right now with a 235/40 and a 1.5" drop. i will only rub if i have people in the back seat. but even then, its not the fender that rubs. what rubs is the rear bumper tab. overall i'm really happy with it. no rubs ever with just me in the car and it sits nice and flush.

245 is going to rub itself flat @your ride height.
