windshield wipers slamming hard can't get it to stop!!!!!

So I looked but I see nothing. I am having windshield wiper problems they are slamming down hard and not even new wipers helped. One dealership told me that it was the bushings in the motor links and I had to replace the whole link the other dealership was not sure why it was happening but they will charge me less then the first dealership but really does anyone know about this problem or has anyone had this problem?

There are lil white plastic "PEGS" that hook your linkage together.....they are worn out. If you can find the part number, you can replace just the tabs for a few bucks. Search, you will find what im talking about in the forums! And as always......WELCOME TO AZINE!

Just like Topher said, I had the same problem with my drivers side one. It was slamming down hard and then going past the side column off the windshield and leaving marks.

Its not hard to fix, take off the cowl and remove a couple parts, it should be pretty straight foward if its the white ball joint part, it will be cracked/broken/worn or something obvious if that is the problem.

Good luck dude.

Yes, I think its 9. If that is a plastic white half circle. I think I bought the entire arm (12) and it wasn't that expensive.

The parts departments usually wont let you or "RECOMMEND" you not buying only the little white plug, they will try and sell you the entire arm......tell em NO, you only need the part you are requesting

I replaced both my arms, took about 10 minutes. They cost about $30 for both? (been a while).

They just snap off and then snap the new ones on. You may have to push or pull the arm a but for it to snap off. Its a ball and socket joint.
