Why everytime i disconnect the battery
Why everytime i disconnect the battery
Does anyone know why everytime I disconnect and then connect the battery , my car work much better than before ...for lets say couple of weeks and then again it is not that powerfull like before .?I do understand that Im resetting the computer ...but if everything is ok with the car why the crisp performance going back to the regular
Sure ...Bilstein sport, rotora brakes, SS brake lines,H&R sport, headers, Ice box, eibach sway bars, PIAA interior, exterior,Ground wires kit . About 2 years ago i had to replace one headlight, someone tryed to still it but i guess alarm went on , anyway they damaged the R headlight wich been replaced. Sometimes the turn signal (Front) stop blinking but it is rare . Also the fan regulator light , R side not working , checked the fuse and it is ok . I can barely see two tiny bulbs I guess one of them went bad and thats the reason . The funniest part is I got the job offer in Mexico city and took my car here. The only CL in whole country ...cant take my car to any mechanic(((
dude. i feel the same way about my 6speed. sometimes my car is weak for like a week on end, but then at the end of the week, my car fuckin pulls like it should. it is very inconsistent. also it feels like everytime i do something new like change plugs, put on my headers, or fix an exhaust leak it will run good but a couple weeks later and it feels as if i never did anything. almost as if the ecu adjusts down on me.
i wasnt sure if i was the only one that felt that way about their cl. i was thinking about running a baseline to see if i'm where i want to be but it would be a waste if my car is constantly running different.
i have 03cls6 with 97,000 miles. i've considered alot of things but i'm not sure what else it can be
i know that cars are to an extent inconsistent with power but there are major differences with the butt-dyno.

I replaced the spark plugs a year ago . The fuel filter been changed a yearand a half ago , the ice box is ok , battery brand new , oil change every 6 000 miles Castrol fully sintetic ...what else can be done (((?

yup, everthing is done on my car regularly. replaced imrc, pcv, iacv, oil change regularly, sparkplugs were this month, valve adjustment was this month, air filter is changed regularly. there is no tune up that i havent really done. car has been seafoamed, throttle body has been cleaned several times, and occasionally i'll throw some injector cleaner in the tank.
alot of guys do it but maybe next i should open the IM and check and clean the egr ports???

Fantom and Sinful: I think you're feeling the effects of crud on injectors and in combustion chambers. How is your idle? Does it stumble, and can you feel engine vibrations through the steering wheel while sitting still? I used to feel this in varying degrees until I began using 3 oz of Fuel Power 60 (FP-60, but there's a new formulation I'll get next time) in EVERY tank. After 4-5 months of continuous use, my idle has never been smoother and has stayed smooth since then. I read up on it on bobistheoilguy.com, and I'm not spamming you!
fuzzy, i have a 6speed. if me and fantom have the same symptoms, i dont think its tranny related.
tosh, i have ran seafoam through my gas tank recently actually to clean my injectors, and sometimes i'll throw some injector cleaner to a tank just for peace of mind. i'm pretty sure its not the injectors.
fantom, i to believe that it is the ecu in some way. automatically the ecu resets and is constantly adjusting. i think that is why i can feel my car pull really hard every once in a while. some say obd2 is geared for emissions and sensors will change performance adjustments in the ecu to keep low emissions?

I think , that´s the reason . What I´m going to do is to put a switch inside the cabin connected to the battery
and on every red light turn the switch on and then off ...to be honest .....it is very bothering to know that my car can work much better that it is (

I think the main reason your not seeing a gain from the plenums is because the ecu is adding fuel and pulling timing because of the added air fuel. When you add a mod to these cars. Most of you say you have to wait until the ECU adjust. But what you will notice is if you install a bolt on, and dyno right away. You will see a bigger HP gain. The reason being is becuase the ecu didnt adjust yet to the extra flow, and the car will run alittle bit leaner resulting in a HP gain.
What happens is that when you dont have anything to tune the car. The ecu eventually learns the added flow and matches back up the fuel and timing to make it back to what it thinks is stock. When you have something like a VAFC, or some other type of Piggy back system. It actually overrides the stock ecu to keep the air fuel where you set it to be.
For example, if you turbo a CL on a stock ecu. Without anything to tune. It will start running worst and worst every day. But if you have a Emanage or something. It will always run how you set it up to run.
So in this case. If you come back to my shop and we do both b4 and after. you will see a gain, but you will in all honesty want to get some kind of something to tune the car. You will not only be able to make more HP, but also be able to always have that power there. This rule does not only occur with the plenums, but will be the same with headers, intake etc. you will actually see a bigger gain right after install, because stock headers are so restricted, that even after ecu compensates from aftermarket header, that you will still have some gains, but not as much as right after install.
Older ecus didnt use to do this. On a newer car like a 2006 Civic Si for example. Alot of people install intakes on the cars, and they go and dyno a week later, and find out that they have the same HP as they did before the install. But thats only becasue they dont have any kind of management that will not let the ecu go back to stock.
this sounds exactly how my car is. i plan on saving for some fuel management
