i like turbo cause one less thing to drive with a belt but the exhaust routing is kinda a pain though (and too many S/Cs around)
but i was thinking low boost so you could put on a relitivly(spelling?) small turbo for the size motor and have the boost come on extremly early

and maybe this with etheir S/C or turbo: http://www.hopesystemsinc.com/intercooler/IC_Main.asp
(less tubing to pressurize than a front mount intercooler

the torque be so with that size motor and FI

i'm at 103k and i beat you both cause basically everything for the 105k was done at 90K by previous owner (was done at the shop at i work at, and i did it)(i've worked on it since 2005, the shop since new)(also shop has records since 7K)

but it does need a p.o.s. automatic tranny at some point, it has already itself once of it's fluid, we refilled and flushed it and it seems to be fine for the last 8K miles

Ive looked at that intercooler in the past. Its awesome, but then Id need to mount the coolant tank and wire everything up and yadda yadda yadda.

BTW, I lied about the turbo:

i knew i change your mind, lets see the motor being pulled already for the build and just do the t/belt with the motor pulled

but imagine how fast the turbo spool up

Basically, when I hit 105k the motor is gonna be pulled, new timing belt, 3.5 (or .6) build, head work, new clutch. Im using the 105k service as an excuse to have alittle fun.

soon to be wife won't let me do a 6MT conversion when the auto tranny fails, previous owner would love to see it a manual too

2002 CL-S here 87K miles mixture of city hwy miles and I get 25.7 consistantly. when I take long road trips I typically get 32MPG although when I am in the middle of a car train, I have seen 34 and the furthest I went was 525 miles on a tank as the gas station i was going to stop at was closed for repairs and the next one was 66 mile up the road lol got there with 2 gallons to spare......

yep. filled up as soon as the light came on last week. (kept the receipt to see how much gas actually went in (13.9 US gallons) reset my trip meter to 0. light came on again this week. the tripmeter had 189.9miles on it. I'm sure I'm calculating the MPG right...I'm pretty decent at calculating stuff....*physics major* ^^

cause it's milage divided by gallons used equals miles per gallon (mileage/gallons used=MPG)
use a tenth mile and thousandenths of a gallon for the best accurancy
AND NO clicky, clicky on the pump to top it off (it can screw up your charcol canister for the evap system, or even bulge your tank if it's too full and gets warm/hot enough, even potentaly burst in the most extreme case

I HATE ENGINEERS, maybe they should try working on their OWN BULLSHIT designs especally when you have to tear apart half the car just to get to the stupid part to replace it

well if he is pyhsics major, maybe he should know to keep his tires properly inflated

just playing with the tires, never even seen his car

Lol, engineers are ok, but they need to let someone on the outside test it to make sure whatever they designed is truly useful.

I work with engineers alot with work and they are a pain in the ass to work with, especially when something of theirs doesnt work.

funny to see where the topic goes with my physics comment...^^

anyhow, I'm planning to change out the sparkplugs, and see if that makes any difference.

Sometimes when I go into like a store and come back, I can notice that the tick goes down about half a mark. Can it use THAT much gas just to ignite the car? o.O

I notice that sometimes as well, only when its a hot-start though. Definately make sure your air filter is clean and your plugs are gapped correct.

Oh, and I live up to my signature

I broke 100k the other day, noticed at 100,012 though so I didn't get a picture. I also got >17mpg on my last tank. Btw civicdrivr, a 3.5(.6) build would be sick!

this thread was about gas mileage

but anyways try http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6LcQBhLAL5k to hear the supercharger whine

ok, ok back on topic. what would the gas mileage be with a 3.6 stroker with F/I (S/C and Turbo)

See that whine is too loud because the car just doesnt seem fast. Id ask him why his differential is whining so much

Im assuming the 3.5 or 3.6 would get the same gas mileage as my brothers Accord 6MT, which is 23-25 mixed, and he drives just as much as I do.

The final drive ratios are different, but he has taller tires which drops the gearing and he revs about the same as my CL at 80.

As far as 3.6 w/ turbo or s/c, that depends on what your right foot decides

Thats me right there. I love working with my hands and hate sitting infront of a computer all day. I was gonna be a mech. engineering major but there was a ton of math so I switched to accounting, but I still plan to get my 2 year AA in auto tech after I'm done.

only thing i don't like about this profession is that tools are so gad damn EXPENSIVE, and you need alot of tools to be able to work on a variety of cars (i am lucky in that the shop basically has bought all my tools, but if i leave i'm f***ed)

BTW: is't there alot of math in accounting too
also i didn't even bother looking at regular collages when i graduated high school i looked at technical collages instead; i already knew what i wanted to do;

like .044 i think or so. most quality plugs should come pregaped, thats also why they come with those tubes around the threads so they don't get knocked out of spec during shipping

btw: if you do try and change the gapping you have to be very careful to not chip the coating on the electrode's and stuff (if the electrodes were solid platinum they be selling for ALOT more)

yes theres lots of math in accounting too, but its simple math. In engineering, I had to take 3 semesters of calculus and a couple of semesters of physics. Plus a couple engineering classes before I even transfer to a university.
