2001 Acura CL-S 179K. When the car is cold there is no noise. Drive for 15 minutes let it sit for a couple and start it up a weird vibrating/scraping noise is heard. Doesn't happen at idle, only between 1500-2500rpm. Noise makes in reverse and drive, but not park. Any ideas?

 

Engine or transmission mount?

 

checked all already and they are fine....im on the verge of changing out the catalytic converter and see what's going on I'll post updates when I do it

 

I think you should follow the clue that noise does not happen in Park. Catalytic converter is pretty expensive to just R&R without proper diagnostic!

 

Heat shield?

 

Heat shield, or possibly an axle is on its way out. Mine made a similar noise for months then one day the axle broke and after replacing it, the noise went away. I agree it's better to diagnose then to just throw parts at it. It can be very time consuming and expensive. I hope this helps!
