Hey guys! I'm brand new to this forum, even though I've been reading through here for a couple months now. My wife and I have an '01 silver CL-P Auto and it has the original trans....woo! But when the car is in D and I accelerate it will start to shudder at around 35-55mph in 3rd & 4th gears. Currently I have to keep it in 3rd up to 45mph and them shift up to 4th in order to keep it from shuddering. I appologize if there is a thread out about this already, i just haven't seen it. and any advice would help us greatly! Thanks All!

 

last time you changed the fluid? I do mine every 15K (1 drain and fill)

 

Fluid won't fix a that... Ur in for a Trans rebuild or Trans swap out

 

If he's never changed the fluid, then yes it will help, for how long, who knows

 

Sorry for the delay in response. I had the fluid changed and the tranny still shudders. BUT, the tranny hasn't been flushed on a regular basis. We got the car used...so who know what's been done to the car

I have changed the fluid on my Trans every oil change and it still wore the clutches down. So in my ever so humble opinion... From my experience over the past 5 years and 4 transmissions, It's not going to be the deal breaker for the transmission.

I also have a company 02 mdx that get no attention ever. Always late on oil changes. Maintenance, Trans fluid change is every two years at best.. And go figure we have towed and delivered 200 or so hot tubs with it and it just keeps on trucking! 280000 kms on it now

There was one time where it was flaring on up shifts and then we did the Trans fluid. It was brown sludge, just absolutely horrid stuff. We did a 3x3 and yes it fixed the flare. But a flare is the smallest and most barable Trans issue that can occur.

It makes me sick that I do so much to try and maintain my car and then this fricken mdx just gets no love and cannot die!

It's luck of the draw I guess.
