tranny seems odd {automatic}

Hi,I have a cls w/72k miles. My tranny seems aggressive on the 1-2 and 2-3 shift. When going down hill it feels like the brakes are on. Is this normal with the lock-up type torque converter? Just bought the car and it seems different from anything I've owned. most imports I've driven do shift quicker than other cars. Any thoughts or feedback appreciated...

I would take it to your local Acura dealer and have them look at your tranny. The new class action lawsuit now extends the warranty on your transmission to 7yrs / 109K whichever comes first.

Mine too

My tranny was replaced as part of the campaign, but yes, it does the same thing. Going downhill it seems like it needs to shift up. RPMs a bit higher than expected.

The reason why it feels like that going down is is the grade logic of our tranny. If you tap the brakes going down hill it will downshift to slow the car down. Same thing when going up hill, it will pick the optimal gear so it isnt gear hunting when climbing.
