Hi. I have an '01 Acura CL type S. I am the third owner and I got it with 43xxx miles in '04. I just hit 110xxx miles and I'm noticing my tranny going out. My rpm would revv and I wouldn't be going as fast as I should. Sometimes when I back up and put it in D it would revv and then do a hard shift (as if I were racing from a dig.) My car is sitting in the garage, waiting to be fixed. It's still drivable, but I'm not risking it. Here are some questions I have.

I have a BGFA tranny in it right now. The '03 has an M7WA (usually found in TL) Can I swap that tranny in my CL with no mods?

I want my next tranny to be as easy and a plug and play deal. I am worried if i rebuild or get another BGFA it will happen again.

So please...give me a list of all the trannys that can fit in my '01 CL-S.


One last question. If anyone knows anybody who has a tranny...I wouldnt' mind giving them, you a call.

 

Yea the 03 trans would fit. I have a TL trans in my car right now.

I see you're into Taylor Swift. I have two extra tickets to her concert with Kelly Pickler next week on the 6th. Floor, 11th row and the sad part is....everyone is too busy on that day.

 

01-03 transmissions for both CL & TL are junk so what is the point of doing that?

 

oh young grasshopper lol. he has a 3rd gen TL tranny. as do i. i have an '07 TL tranny. they fixed the tranny problem for the later year 3rd gen TL's.

Who has a 3rd gen tranny???? kamk2004 has original box and wants to put in M7WA -03 tl. Does it make any sense?

 

Oh I guess he has a 2nd gen tranny. Have a 3rd gen tranny in mine.
