Timing Belt

I'm not the original owner of car got it used. How can I tell if the timing belt has "jumped time"? Could this be why car won't crank/ start? I've changed all six spark plugs, iginition coils as well as fuel pump. After doing so drove around for about 20 to 50 miles and car cutoff and has not started since although its turning over.

The only real way to tell is to take off all of the covers for the timing belt and check the timing marks. You can try performing a compression test and that will also give you an indication, but it is not necessarily definitive.

Any check engine lights present?

You can check the engine timing without having to remove the covers; there is a small removable cover on the timing belt cover that allows you to see the timing mark on the camshaft pulley. the service manual details it on page 6-8.

You will want to turn the engine by hand; if you remove the spark plugs it will be easier but not necessary. While you are turning (clockwise) the crankshaft by hand, you can also feel for any binding; this will clearly indicate a mechanical issue such as missed timing.

Thanks will be trying tomorrow. Is it really necessary to change water pump if changing the timing belt?

Align your engine to TDC (Top Dead Center) for #1 cyl. and check the marks on the cam sprockets and the crank pulley. They should all match up with their reference marks on the engine, if they don't, then you'll know which one needs to be adjusted.
It could be why your car doesn't start, but unless you suspect the timing being off for a reason; probably not the smoking gun you're looking for.
