I did not change mounts, and my stiff clutch is gone.

Waiting for streetKA's and Phee's results of the motor mounts

I changed my clutch and I had no more stiff clutch after a hard rpm run.
Phee, also recently discovered that his pressure plate was worn to hell. he changed it and no more stiff clutch.

Kinda sad that I found the solution in post#2, but no one took me up on it.
i heard you in post #2 but i refuse to believe i need a new clutch.

ok here is what i think is wrong.. my car does the same exact thing but since i dont drive my car hard i hardly ever feel it.. -- on my car when trying to shift into 3rd at high rpm the clutch pedal gets really stiff. after rpms go down i pump it and condition goes away..

--please try to follow..

ok so the clutch line that goes from master cylinder to trans is a hard line except for about 6 inches of rubber hose wich is designed for engine movement..
when driving hard and at high rpms the engine moves alot (if) motor mounts are broken there for collapsing the rubber hose and making fluid hard to travel throu the line and making clutch pedal hard..

so to end this im positive that its the motor mounts that are causing this problem..
in my case my motor mounts are broken so i would have to replace them to assure its the fix.. but i dont have any money at this time..

if you guys that are having this issue replace motor mounts and fix the issue please post back on this thread..

hope you guys find this helpful

I believe some of the members that have had this problem are also running a SS line in place of the stock rubber line, so it shouldnt kink.

When you do the line, remove the dampening device as well. It slows down the return path on the fluid putting excess wear on the clutch since it slows down the engagement no matter how quickly you come off the pedal. Its one of the first mods I did and I loved every minute of it. You will have more of a feel in the clutch pedal however.

I had this same issue with shifting and once I changed my clutch it has been gone.. I believe that the clutch disk much like brake pads create dust and when you start getting hard on the clutch the fiber can come off.. I had a rats nest of the clutch disk material built up right next to the starter when I pulled the starter out.. the transmission side of the disc was nothing but metal.. I suspected my clutch got hard because the clutch material was no longer flat and may had been overlapping in some degree causing the hard petal and hard shifting
