sticking clutch pedal: HELP!

So for about a month now my clutch pedal is sticking more and more. I replaced the slave cylinder and modded it by removing the check valve, but yet when I get on it and drive aggressive my clutch pedal sticks and gets hard everytime before i can even get to third gear.
Help with any info please

I had the same problem as you.
I read about everyone else having the same problem.
they all said that they changed the master AND slave, and it still did not solve the problem.

I changed out my clutch on 11/05/10 and am happy to report no my sticking or stiff pedal after a hard/HIGH RPM run.

I have same issue but not always. Sometimes i rew it on the neutral and clutch pedal gets hard a lil but i pump it once and its gone. I was going crazy about it but for now i have to live with it. No idea what is it. My clutch has like 35k miles and i had the problem from the begining. It might be flywheel because i reused it (resurfaced). Anyone figure it out im looking forward to find out what it is.

wow, so this IS an issue with our cars and no answers yet.
I am praying its not my clutch or flywheel, and more like clutch pedal bushings or something, but then again if it was that, it probably always stick or get hard..
oh, and yes i bled the lines very well....

I had that problem it seemed like for 1-2 years when I wasn't driving aggressively. Then I started driving and shifting very aggressively and after a few months I stopped noticing it.

I would blame it on driver before I blamed it on the car.

you are letting off the clutch too rapidly

try shifting slower during your aggressive drving and tell me if it doesnt get stiff anymore.

this is solely for testing purposes because i get the same issue and my clutch is looking brand new (pulled it last week) my flywheel has hot spots tho

I don't think I am letting off clutch too rapidly. Even if I shift slowly I still haven't noticed the stiff pedal. I will try and keep an eye on it.

From my experience with previous cars (as my CL is an Auto), there could be an issue with the pressure plate or valves off the master cylinder. When the car is operating like normal, the higher the RPMs, the easier the clutch pedal should feel (even though there is no direct pump/pulley connecting the 2). Which clutch fluid did you use? Did you buy a cheap clutch/PP? Did you adjust the clutch after replacing the slave cylinder?

okay, my car was doing this before i replaced the slave cylinder and modded it and put Mobile synthetic brake fluid in there. and its becoming worse as i stated earlier, but only when i am at higher speeds or aggressively driving.
the clutch pedal will get stiff or stick therefore im not able to shift till it loosens up.
aaaaaand like i said, i have bled the lines well and there are no leaks.
i do not ever smell the clutch burning up either....

I thought the clutches were "self adjusting" on these cars. I beginning to think I bought a big RARE POS.

They are. There is a pedal adjustment at the pedal, but that's not supposed to be touched unless the pedal height is out of spec.
Service manual...
Pedal stroke = 142.5-152.5mm
Pedal free play = 10-18mm
Pedal height = 190mm
Pedal disengagement height = 79mm

correction. i wasnt paying attention, but NO I used Valvoline fully synthetic DOT 3-4 brake fluid. And when bleeding the lines i adjusted it to the pressure i wanted the clutch.

thanks on those measurements, very helpful. I will check to see if im at that range.

still would like to see what the real problem could be cause it was sticking all day yesterday

I never replaced anything on the clutch, just had acura service it regularly, so I dont think the issue has to do with modding it. It happens on stock cars too.

I noticed weird thing. After i installed ETD the hard clutch problem is almost gone! It makes me wonder how engine mounts/movement can affect clutch thats weird. ShiftS are def more firm now. I have to look at it a bit more.

Hmm.
It just sucks that the higher the rpms and speed the stiffer the pedal gets

my car shifts like butter and i have no leaks and the fluid is well bled.
everytime i get on it, the pedal gets hard then by 3rd or 4th its really stiff and i have to pump the pedal till it loosens.

Aaron, have you changed the clutch yet?

I promise to God that it will solve your stiff clutch problem

^like i said in my original post, people have changed both the MC and the SC and the problem still persist.
I changed my clutch and I had no more stiff clutch after a hard rpm run.
Phee, also recently discovered that his pressure plate was worn to hell. he changed it and no more stiff clutch.

Kinda sad that I found the solution in post#2, but no one took me up on it.
