Steering rack leak. 03 CLS

Leaked on my driveway around last week, i put in a sealer and it stopped leaking pretty much right away surprisingly. its been a week and a half and no leaks yet. i lifted it noticed the rack and where most of the lines meet just below the U joint was wet. has anyone have to fix this before? can someone let me know what solutions i have and if theres any used or new ones for sale for reasonable price. thanks peeps

From what I've heard, when they start leaking they need to get replaced eventually..

Where you located? & 6 speed?

Hi,

I have a 2003 CL-S 6 speed. Just replaced my rack & main pressure hose. My rack was leaking for at least 3 years. I kept adding power steering fluid every few months for a quick fix until the main power hose started leaking.
Eventually you are going to have to change the rack as mentioned if you are keeping the car. It will be up to you as it is not cheap to do. I live in Montreal and the rack cost me $400. Labor will be about 4 to 5 hours, and you will need new fluid obviously and a wheel alignment. Hope this helps you with your decision.

I recently thought the rack on my '03 was leaking as well. It turned out to be my power steering pump. Not as expensive as replacing the rack. You might want to have someone else check it out.

My buddy did the work and he got the rack from a local parts store in St Eustache. Not sure which one. I believe that he was able to get his usual discount...

I was going to add that you're better off going with a new rack than a used one.

I reconfirmed with my guy and he got me an OEM Acura rack. The cost was $460.
