Small question that I couldn't find @ faq+stickies...

Hi people~ newbie here!~

I was reading through the forums and searching in this forum, as well as google...but couldn't find the answer to this question!!

How similar are 2G TL's and CL's?
I hear that they are very similar, and that you can use the DIY's for the TL's for installing parts for CL.

However, are the parts compatible with each other? like...

If I had an intake or suspensions for the 2G TL-s, would that fit the 2G CL-S?

Yes all the parts off a 2g tl/cl and 99-2002 accord v6 r da same.
My BG suspention kit said V6 accord on it and I installed Headers OBX that where on a 2001 V6 accord on to my 2001 CL today. I say 90% of the aftermarket parts are the same on both cars!

for all practical purposes, with the exception of the 03 CL 6 Speed, the CL, TL, and Accord have identical engine bays and interchangeable suspension components. Not so sure about swaybars and strutbars - I suspect these would be different.

Intakes are different between all the motors / models due to throttle body diameter and engine compartment to throttle body length differences

Hm...so it seems like most of the suspension parts will be pretty much shareable(?), while intake will not, since they have different engine specification?

All suspension from 6th Gen Accord is the same.

Most parts are identical...you really only run into differences on cosmetic items (front end, rear end, door dimensions and piping for exhaust)

Basically that's the only real differences.

They are interchangeable between 2nd Gen CL, TL, and 6th Gen Accord.

The motors in the TL-P and the CL-P are the same, as with the Type S' (J32A1 for the Premium models, A2 for the S').

BUT there are differences between the automatic J32A2 and the manual J32A2, cam gears are different if I recall correctly.

I would think they are the same since its the same engine code :J32A2. If you can find some info to support you, then that would be great.

Timing Belt Pulley

Part #s:
- 13621-P8A-A01 (auto)
- 13621-PGE-A11 (6MT)

Cam Gears:

The front cam gear is different between the auto and manual. The manual cam gear has PGE stamped on it.

No real difference, its just the sensors that are different. Thats why if you use a 6MT ecu and harness on an auto motor (like in a swap) or vice versa, youll get a CEL.

The sensor plugs? No, those are different.

If you were swapping this engine into a Civic or something and you used an Auto harness on a 6MT engine, youd need to get the sub-harnesses for the two sensors.
