Security System Malfunction

Has anyone had an instance where the factory security system fails to arm? Mine just stopped working yesterday. The key will...........

SH*T I just remembered something that I did myself yesterday. I had the car doors closed and I was pushing both the unlock and the lock buttons twice. I think that disables the alarm or something like that. I'll try that tonight and let you guys know in case someone else pulls a stupid one like me

Another thing that went wrong with the car. The security system is now gone. I can't stand Acura's anymore! It had nothing to do with the keypress I was doing.

They are so poorly built! What can we expect!

I haven't heard of many instances of the security system going bad.

Try locking the door using the key. This should arm the system. If that works, then the fob isn't working (battery maybe). Another possibilty is that the LED in the door is not working. Also, check fuses.

The craziest thing happened. On Friday I found another forum with someone with a similar issue but he couldn't disarm the alarm system. Someone recommended to reset the alarm which is located underneath the passengers seat. I rolled the seat forward and jiggeled the connectors to the alarm. Now it works again.

You guys are right in that every car has it's issues and I must apologize for saying that Acura's suck. I was really frustrated and took action before doing the research. It's just that I've spent too much money on repairs and didn't want to spend more. Well I hope this helps anyone else with the same issue.

Cheers everyone!
