RUST in the weirdest spot!... HELP

So I noticed today I have rust on my driver's side door underneath the weather stripping right where the mirror is basically. So where the trim ends/begins right there for about 4inches it's rusted up a decent amount... SO odd i found it. I was looking at the weather stripping and noticed the drivers side was slightly higher up than the passenger side (due to rust) WTF can I do to fix/ stop it.

I presume it's been brewing the whole life of the car = 9 years so it's not going to kill the car immediately or anything but it straight up annoys me. It's the only rust on the whole car and I want is back to like new.

What should/ ca I do guys?

Or is this more of a body shop job? I'd pay 1-2hundred to get it fixed

I have it on both doors. Im debating about what I should do. Since it is covered by weatherstripping I think I may clean it up then put rust converter on it, then hit it with some rustoleum.

yea I just bought some rust deactivator crap and sprayed that on and let it sit then wiped it off, puttied on some marine grease as well to COMPLETELY engulf the rust sports on both doors and that's goood enough for now... in a few weeks i'm going to grind what i can off... and re-paint it with enamel paint after priming and what not.

FORGET about getting new doors... lol

dammmm. i found the same rust and flipped. I thought i was the only one. Drivers side only though i hope! ah gotta check the passenger. My body shop guy wanted to replace the whole door. Said the finess of the door crimp where the stripping slides on to it.
